Summer skin care tips

As we start to approach the warmer weather our skin starts to change which can be frustrating if you have a set routine that starts to not work for you anymore.

First step is to recognise what your skin is needing. Typically the warmer months means we can leave the dry winter skin behind.

We can switch out our heavier moisturisers for lighter moisturisers as we typically sweat more in the summer time and we don’t have to worry about the cold air drawing the moisture out our skin like we would in the winter.

By having a lighter and heavier moisturiser in your routine you can switch between the two to cater to your skin needs whether the weather be hot or cold.

Using toners in the summer is a nice way to keep on top of hydration providing a cool refreshing spritz and can be easily carried in your bag where ever you go.

SPF should be used all year round but is crucial in summer as it not only protects our skin from sunburn but sun damage too as the sun is one of the biggest skin agers.

The sun also darkens pigmentation in the skin so you might want to switch out your serums with more brightening ones to help lighten these areas. SPF helps our skin care work more efficiently and is greatly paired with brightening products as it stops the pigmentation from darkening further so you can see the results from your serums rather than reversing the effects.
